In 2004, Maningrida Arts & Culture opened a retail outlet in Darwin to market and promote artists from the Maningrida region. MAC Darwin has established itself as a major retail tourist outlet & reputable gallery in Darwin. MAC Darwin mainly sells prints, necklaces, baskets, fibre sculptures, small bark paintings, timber and metal sculptures. MAC Darwin also organises two exhibitions per year: a Christmas show aimed at the local market and an exhibition during Telstra Arts Awards targeting Aboriginal art collectors visiting Darwin. MAC Darwin staff can also source some fine art pieces for its clients.
