Delia Juburri is a multidisciplinary Kuninjku artist from West Arnhem Land whose practice encompasses bark painting, sculpture and fibre art. Born at Marrkolidjban outstation, Delia comes from one of the most distinguished artistic families in Arnhem Land. She is the daughter of the internationally renowned artist and cultural leader Peter Marralwanga (1917–1987), whose paintings and advocacy for country profoundly influenced generations of Kuninjku artists, and the sister of acclaimed bark painter Ivan Namirrkki.

Delia’s painted work often depicts barddedde (jungle vine) and mandirrhbinj (cracked mud) rarrk designs, as well as yawkyawk (female water spirits). Her distinctive style employs finely executed geometric rarrk repeated within strong graphic compositions, often set against a black background. These paintings continue and honour the artistic legacy of her late husband Timothy Wulanjbirr, one of the most innovative Kuninjku painters of his generation.

Through her marriage to Timothy, Delia was given permission to paint the ancestral stories and rarrk designs associated with his clan estate of Barrihdjowkkeng. Today she is recognised for these designs, continuing to share the mandirrhbinj and barddedde djang through her bark paintings, carvings and lorrkkon (hollow log burial poles). 

Alongside painting, Delia is a highly skilled fibre artist who works with pandanus and natural dyes collected from country. She is known for experimenting with complex weaving techniques to create intricate sculptural forms that draw on both customary and contemporary practices.

Delia works closely with her daughters, emerging artists Eugenie and Olivia Bonson, sometimes collaborating on artworks and passing on the cultural and artistic knowledge inherited through her family. Through her practice, Delia stands as an important link between generations, connecting the legacy of Peter Marralwanga and Timothy Wulanjbirr with the next generation of Kuninjku artists.
