Loretta was born and raised a Gochan Jiny-jirra (Cadell) outstation. She grew up watching senior Gun-nartpa artists like Engaland Banggala and Terry Ngamandara paint. 

Loretta started her artistic career painting carved wooden mimih sculptures in 2022. She was given permission her father’s side family from Namokardabu Outstation to paint and carve the stone country spirit.

Like her personality, Loretta’s mimihs are painted with bold and confident strokes.
